Finest grade gyokuro from Yame Fukuoka Prefecture
Gyokuro is a shaded grown loose leaf tea from Japan. This gyokuro will be one of the finest grade in Japan. This will be hand picked, picking the fine leaves only from the Spring season. Very few regions still does the hand picking and Yame region is known for making the highest grade gyokuro in Japan.
In order to be named by DENTO HON-GYOKURO, it will need to follow the regulations that is set by the Yame government. It needs to be hand picked and naturally grown. Naturally grown will contain more strong flavor and only can be picked by hand since it is grown in a very natural wild way that it is almost in a form of a bush. Also how they shade will be in a very traditional which they use the straw.
This will have an ultra fine umami flavor with a note of natural sweetness as well. We usually go through 5 rounds with the same tea pot and tea leaf. Each round will taste different and we eat the tea leaves at the end with salt or ponzu(Japanese citrus sauce).
