Artisan-Crafted Tokoname Teapot by Master Craftsman Yusen
Indulge in the exquisite craftsmanship of our handmade Tokoname teapot, skillfully crafted by the talented artisan Yusen. This teapot, a true work of art, showcases the rich vermilion color, allowing you to appreciate the intricate patterns and cuts. Meticulously chosen raw materials and exceptional wheel-throwing techniques contribute to its unique charm, making it 20-30% lighter compared to teapots of similar size.
The fine mesh, known as "Sasame," used in the tea strainer has been thoughtfully designed to have a rounded shape, maximizing its openness. This results in minimal clogging of tea leaves, ensuring a smooth flow of tea. The delicate ceramic mesh, referred to as Ceramesh, seamlessly integrates with the main body, eliminating the need for metallic tea strainers. This design ensures an even opening of tea leaves, extracting the essence of delicious tea without leaving a single drop behind. Moreover, it avoids any unwanted metallic odors or flavors, allowing you to savor the true essence of your tea.
About Tokoname
Originating from the late Heian period, Tokoname ware is a revered ceramic art born in the vicinity of Tokoname City in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Tokoname teapots, in particular, capitalize on the interaction between iron content in the clay and tea tannins, resulting in a smooth and mellow flavor profile. Uniquely crafted without glazing, the teapot's smooth surface absorbs impurities, enhancing the overall taste of the tea. Each individually handcrafted Tokoname teapot gains a lustrous sheen with use, becoming a cherished "tool" in your daily tea rituals.
